In a thread on the Mac BC side -- https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?t=26359 -- a user requests that a preference setting be added to "not autoname routes". I have no problem with the request, although I would not use it since at least some of the route name I want to use is usually in the autoname and I just modify it.
I request a slight addition to this request, which I searched for but didn't find, though it surely exists somewhere. Some devices, like Zumos, recognize the word "from" in the route name and reformat the route name display to save space and be clearer to read, where "B from A' makes the destination B bold and the "from A" part on a second line in smaller font. Very nice and useful. However in a classic case of the right hand/left hand syndrome, routes created in MS or Win BC (can't say for Mac BC) are always autonamed "A to B" thus requiring the route creator to completely rearrange the name into "B from A" format.
Please create a preference setting in BC for route autonaming with 3 options: 1) None, 2) A to B, and 3) B from A. Those of us who have devices that handle B from A specially can thus set it to work optimally with these devices (not sure which ones other than Zumo do this).
Thank you!
