Select View on the menu bar and then Recenter Map To..., past your coordinates.

On Mac-BC, the workflow is Find -> Locate Coordinates... You tell me which one makes more sense.
  • Or Ctrl + T if you find shortcuts easier :)

(Select View on the menu bar and then Recenter Map To..., past your coordinates. )

I've tried that method ... However it doesn't hit the same location.

For example I tried 37.285321,-112.94735 (pulled from Google maps) The location is the end of the valley floor road in Zion NP. When pasted into Basecamp it shows the location as being many miles away.

    Looks pretty close to me...

    I did Ctrl-T, then pasted 37.285321,-112.94735, put an N before the 37 and replaced the ,- with a W.

Theres the difference ... I never found and documentation anywhere to insert the N and replace the -.

    thanks that helps

I'll create a case for accepting Google Maps coordinates. It would certainly be nicer if it worked without such replacement shenanigans.
  • FALAGAR, You most likely know that Mac-BC automatically converts 37.285321,-112.94735 to N37.28532 W112.94735 so someone made the case already - apparently just not implemented on Win-BC(?).

Can you make a case for getting these two programs closer in workflow rather than further apart with each version release? It really is quite frustrating when you have to use both versions.

    Cheers,

We are actually working much closer together now than we used to, and have resolved several "feature parity" cases with each release. So I would have to disagree that the two versions are growing farther apart.

Feel free to point out parity issues here, we are definitely working on it.

That being said, I was not aware that Mac BaseCamp was doing the coordinate translation already, that should make the task easier, I would hope. Thanks for pointing this out.
