BaseCamp 3.3.3 released

BaseCamp 3.3.3 has been released. You can download it manually at http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4435. The update from within BaseCamp should become available as well later today.

This is a maintenance release, meaning it's mainly bug fixes.

Fixed an error when a new list folder was created while a balloon was visible on the map
Fixed an error when creating waypoints or tracks over 3rd party maps that are missing files
Fixed some errors when receiving from a device (this is the generic wording for the geocache log message)
Fixed an error when using BaseCamp with an iPhone connected
Fixed an issue with MTP devices with cards greater than 8 GB in size

When I update to version 3.3.3.0 the software stops with an error:
"OS version not right - you need windows XP SP3 or higher" (I got it in German). First higher than SP3 is not avaiable - second I have XP SP3 with all new updates! What's happen?:confused:

The behavior has changed since 3.3.1. I don't know the reason behind the change. I'll create a case to improve this.

Print Setting & Zooming

I'm surprised with so many update in Basecamp, no user selectable "default" printing option. It would be great if just like any other printer setting where we can tick the print option and set it as default instead of having untick it everytime.

It would be great if we can adjust the Zoom level in a more "refine" level both in viewing the map and in printing mode. e.g. Right Click and Drag to the desired level, best if also can enter a print scale, e.g. 1:5000 etc....

Just hoping Garmin would improve on these features in an otherwise a 6 stars mapping program! Just can't live without it! Garmin For Life! As in saving my life.

Zoom level can be adjusted using a scroll wheel if you have one on your mouse?

I have tried everything there is listed to get basecamp 3.3.3 to load and all I get is "Please wait while basecamp installs. This may take a few minutes." I did get 3.3.2 downloaded and then it wanted to upload 3.3.3 but when I said ok it went into EGarmin WEb Updater but did not upgrade?

Did you try to uninstall BaseCamp and then download and run the installer found at http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4435 ?

yes this is where I attempted to download Basecamp, several times before I found a link to 3.3.2
