new way points

apologies if this is covered elsewhere...

is there an option to upload new way points?

when i get back from a trip i have many new way points on my montana that i want to put onto my computer, at the moment i have to go over the route and drag them on manually, is there a better way?

thanks in advance

also i plan my trips using tracks, and the other day i wanted to know how far i had left to go, is there an option to see the distance left to go on the track?

still no montana forum?

oops! posted this is mac software, i'm using a pc, guess it still applies...

There are many ways to transfer waypoints from your Montana to BaseCamp.

You can try to use the filter to only show waypoints on your Montana, then select the waypoints you want to send (use Ctrl-Left Click, or Shift-Left Click to select more than one), then right-click on the selection and pick 'Send To'. There you can choose the destination, this will probably be 'My Collection', or some list you've created.

I made a screen-shot that will hopefully make things more clear.

ok, thanks for the reply, and for moving

the filter is handy, i hadn't spotted that before, but however it doesn't really help me...

i have 213 waypoints on my device, i was using it at the weekend and now have some new ones i want to add to my collection, i already have lots of waypoints in the area i was in (say 150) so just looking at the map it is very hard to see which are new... identifying by their names is also not feasible

what i would like, is to either be able to use that filter to arrange them in date created order, or to be able to sync the device and my collection, or similar

is or would this be possible?

You can select all waypoints and transfer them. If they already exist in 'My Collection' they should not be transferred again.

So if you have say 50 waypoints on your device, and 10 of those are already in 'My Collection', and then transfer all 50 waypoints from the device, you should end up with 50, not 60.
