My Questions about Basecamp..

In MS I can reduce the amount of icons showing while I am creating a route by selecting Map Detail Setting from Lowest to Highest.

I believe while searching around Basecamp I thought I found a place to turn off certain icons. When I open Basecamp I see a lot of plane icons for airports. I don't use the airports and would like to turn them off but would like to turn them back on incase I need to find one.

The attachment is an example.

BTW is there a way to post a photo from my computer without having to load it on an internet website?

This is just going in circles.

The waypoint category implementation will not change.

List = Waypoint Category. There will only be 1 axis. Adding more would add complexity (for both the user and us, the programmers) with little benefit.

We regret that older devices that do not support mass storage cannot be supported, but mass storage is what modern Garmin devices use, and the old implementation (for non-mass storage) was incredibly flawed in the first place, which is why we decided to drop it:

    1. You were limited to 16 categories.
    2. The name of the category was not be transferred, just a category id, which can obviously lead to all kinds of mayhem (think not having the right category name in the preferences, or using the device on differently configured computers that have categories set up differently).

Even for mass-storage, in MapSource you are limited to 16 categories, and transferring a waypoint with a category on the device that MapSource didn't know would not work. If you had a waypoint on the device in category 'X' and MapSource only had categories A, B and C set-up, then that waypoint would have no category.

We really didn't want to continue that behavior.

The BaseCamp implementation works out of the box for our modern devices, doesn't require configuration and isn't limited to 16 categories.

I am closing this thread, it's gone way off topic and I somehow doubt anything constructive would come out of further prolonging this discussion.
