Playback speed bug in BaseCamp

I have found what I believe is a bug in the Playback tool in BaseCamp. (Ver. 3.3.1 and earlier)

When you run playback on a route that is on a connected device (mine is a nuvi 1490) or a route that is transferred from an attached unit to "My Collection", BUT NOT RECALCULATED, the playback is incredibly slow, even at 100x.

If you recalculate the route within "my collection", the speeds are at normal or acceptable levels, and many times faster than the unrecalculated route.

I used to think that playback just isn't fast enough, but it appears that only routes created or recalculated in BaseCamp will playback at desired speeds.

I use the playback feature on routes on the GPS to validate that they are correct for charity events and match what I created. A fast playback is a very valuable tool. It is also critical to play the route back without recalculating it because doing so could potentially alter the route. This is both a validation tool and a troubleshooting and diagnostic tool.

Garmin, can you please fix this?

thanks,
Cliff B.
