Why are these so different?
I have 85,000 + custom waypoints loaded on my Nuvi 2460 using POI Loader - a simple piece of robust software that works well. The points are all categorised with appropriate custom icons and can be so found under 'Extras' on the Nuvi.
These same waypoints can be independently loaded into Basecamp into the same category hierarchy.
When the Nuvi is connected to Basecamp it appears under Devices with a folder 'All Data' beneath. 'All Data' = 'Favourites' and what does 'All' mean?
It means that all my categorised favourites are shown in a single folder and I cannot access the 'Extras' on the Nuvi from Basecamp, clearly I cannot see all the data on the Nuvi.
I would suggest that a more sensible approach would be to have a common architecture across all devices and software.
The 'user' directory structure on the device should appear in BC when the device is connected. It should be possible to seamlessly transfer between the device and Basecamp, without having to utilise separate software (POI Loader).
