Long time Garmin user here..really long time.
My current Garmin is a StreetPilot III and it's time to upgrade.
I'm looking at the Nuvi 2555LT.
One of the things I would do frequently with the Streetpilot III is map out my routes before hand using Mapsource + City Navigator North America and then download the routes and waypoints to the GPS. If I didn't like the route in mapsource I would drag it around to my liking and then send it to the GPS.
If I am understanding correctly, Basecamp would allow me to do this when the Nuvi is connected to the PC. Is this correct?
If I used Mapsource I would need a set of maps installed on the PC, if I understand correctly. (My current CIty Navigator Maps are quite old)
