Won't Alert still Alerting, BC 3.3.1 Nuvi 2555LMT

I have a small route with 1 (what I call shaping point) this is displayed as a Black dot along the route and under "Symbol" in the route "Properties" window.
I can set this as "won't alert" grayed out or select "Alert on arrival" (not grayed out). With this grayed out (won't alert) when I simulate or actually drive the route upon arriving at the "won't alert" point a voice alert is sounded.

What needs to be done or set, to silence this alert?

Its not a question of how to set the points. It seems BC 3.3.1 and the Nuvi 2555LMT aren't reading this option.

The device needs to support this feature (shaping points). Explicit shaping point support is a brand new feature and there is no device in the field that has full support (yet).

I know that some Zumos have some shaping point support already (as long as the via-point is on an intersection or address map point), I am not sure actually if Nuvis support even that much. This is really more of a Zumo feature, but I hope that the Nuvis will catch up at some point.

Is this feature on the list for future enhancements either a Nuvi firmware upgrade or BaseCamp software upgrade?

It seems to me this is a great enhancement that everyone using the GPS as a auto assist device would greatly like and use as the Nuvi is basically a auto device.

BaseCamp is doing all it can already, it's up to the Nuvi team to implement the necessary changes on their end.

Maybe you could gently poke at product support and ask for this feature to be supported? If enough people ask, it should be put up higher in the priority list.

    Falagar,

I would like to gently poke product support to get this into the Zumo 660. Can you let me know how to do this? Do they have a forum they monitor like you do this one?

Our group (the Desktop Applications Group) is pretty much the only one that consistently monitors the forums.

For the rest you would have to go the tried route of sending an email to product support. They should forward it to the right places. http://www.garmin.com/us/support/contact/ From there you can send an email.
