Cannot delete old routes previously sent to Nuvi 2555LMT

Using BC 3.3.1, I created a new route & sent it to my Nuvi 2555LMT
unplugged GPS
turned on gps, viewed route in gps "Trip Planner", its correct
then deleted this route, no other routes are shown, gps is empty
shut off gps.

plugged gps into usb & started BC 3.3.1
click "Internal Storage" first old route is still shown (there shouldn't be any as Nuvi is empty)
created second new route & sent just the second route to gps--exited BC & unplugged gps
Problem: turned on gps and checked "Trip Planner", now both the old first route and the new second route show.

my assumption: BaseCamp 3.3.1 will not allow the NUVI to flush the routes from Internal Storage when deleted.

Questions
1. Why do the routes that were deleted in the NUVI still show in "Internel Storage" when connected to BaseCamp 3.3.1?

2. How can I delete these old routes from "Internal Storage"?

Are there other people having the same problem??

The way it is everytime you create a new route and send it to the Nuvi you always end up with every route you have ever created plus the new route in the "Trip Planner" list---something is very very wrong.

I don't have this problem using BC 3.2.2

Rather than jump to a quick conclusion for a easy fix, I think a good approach to the issue is finding out what is the root cause of the problem and then fix that.

-what is the difference in the way "MTP" and "Mass Storage" is addressed in the BaseCamp programing? or is it an issue with the Nuvi firmware or a combination of the two?

It's an entirely different way of accessing files. In mass-storage mode we can access all the files just like we would any other file on a hard drive.

With MTP we need to use a different approach to grab the files (because there is no drive that we can access).

And obviously something isn't quite working as it should.

    Interesting Info

    Falagar-

I have some info that I think may be useful in troubleshooting....

For the record I am using Basecamp 3.3.1, Nuvi 2555LMT (Software Version 3.7) and Win 7

ALl this was performed in MTP mode....

    The sequence of events:

Removed all wp's and rt's from GPS

    Connected GPS to Computer

Browsed to GPS( under portable devices - no drive letters) and deleted current.gpx and temp.gpx

    Start Basecamp

Check internal storage and shows just 001 waypoint

    Copied several routes/waypoints to GPS.
(The routes were simple-dragged waypoints to start and end points and I made certain the routes used only the waypoints that were copied)

Browse GPS I have a temp.gpx file with a modified date 5 hours ahead of the current time!

Copy temp.gpx to computer and view - it contains all routes and waypoints copied

    Close Basecamp

    Open Basecamp

Internal storage still shows correct waypoints/routes

    Close basecamp

    disconnect and restart GPS

Confirm new routes and waypoints are in GPS

    Reconnect to computer

Browse GPS - I now have a current.gpx file (it is still older than the temp.gpx because the temp.gpx modified date was 5 hrs ahead when written by Basecamp)

Copy Current.gpx file to the computer and view - waypoints are in that file but routes are missing!

Start basecamp and it shows all routes/waypoints in internal storage but I think that is only because it is still reading the temp.gpx file because the date was written 5 hrs ahead

    Close basecamp

    Remove temp.gpx from device

As expected, it is now reading the current.gpx file which has no routes written to it but does show the waypoints.

It seems that there are two issues here....

1- The device is not copying the routes from the temp.gpx file to the current.gpx file

2- The date stamp on the temp.gpx file is wrong.

When I have a chance, I'll try to repeat the above in Mass Storage mode.

I did the above in Mass Storage mode.

The modified date was written correctly but the GPS was still not populating the Routes into the current.gpx file from the temp.gpx file

Just to clarify...the routes do show up in the GPS just not the current.gpx file.

    One more test....

I created a new route (using trip planner app) on the gps and just for kicks modified one of the routes I'd copied from Basecamp in the earlier test.

I also added a new waypoint.

Restarted the GPS for good measure and connected it to the computer.

The waypoint found its was into Current.gpx but none of the routes did. Still no routes at all in current.gpx
