I'd like to see:

- Custom Image Overlay (Like in Google Earth)
- Map Overlay (with transparency control of each map overlaying)
-- So I can load Map1, and Map2 over it to see different information

Allow basecamp database relocation (to a shared drive Webdav, MS Networks. (Ex. SkyDrive) (Multi-Computer usage (not necessairely simultaneous))

DRAMATICLY improve BirdEyes Sat Image Quality.Its pretty bad image quality for me in Quebec, Canada. Pretty much useless. And there is a problems with the limitation on Birdyes. Also, frequent error about "you have exceed blabla on the server".

This say, direct import of Goole Earth KML files (Is this already exist in BC Beta?), would be really appreciated, as BirdEyes so ugly. Im creating Routes/track in GE, then convert it for import in BC.

I think quality varies widely by location. For example, it is excellent in my area. If you read posts from other users, some people say it's great and others say it's terrible. Not sure if Garmin has direct control over this since (as I understand) they purchase the data from Digital Globe.

I understand. Thats why I made my comments. Garmin have to fine a sattelitte image provider that can cover all region, with good quality picture. Same region from Google Earth are WAY more details and clear.

So .. there is provider that can cover correctly with details most region. They have to find it.

It's a matter of what Garmin wants to pay and then charge for. There is real "high res" imagery from Digital Globe as well as from others for almost any spot on the earth. If Garmin were to license at that level globally I expect the cost of a 1yr subscription would double or triple the current $30/yr.

But, that not to say you shouldn't complain if your area or desired areas don't have good imagery.

Its a marketing issues here. I guess my biggest issues is that Quebec Province is not a big enough market for Garmin.Event, High density area dont have good quality imagery (Montreal).

Rendering it unsable. And about the "money" paid for it.. BirdEyes offer such a "SMALL" plus values.. that I wont pay more than 30$ per year.

Google Earth offer high quality for free, so you can prepare a track on it. and Send it to BaseCamp
Cell Phone signals is often avaiaible in most common area, wich I can use to have Sat Imagery from Google on my mobile Google Maps applications. If required on the "field"

BirdEyes, worth it in really remote area... and at this time. there is no good imagery of those really remote area ;)

If you have been paying attention to the coverage in Google Maps for more than a few months and over a large area of the country you will notice that Google Maps has not always been so good. And still is not. Some areas that I am interested in have improved over the past few years. But there are still many areas in British Columbia and Saskatchewan that have terrible detail in Google Maps.

I'm not trying to apologize for Garmin. They charge for a product that has no consistent quality but they make great claims about its wonderful detail. That is not acceptable.

Google was no different when they started and still do not have consistency everywhere. They get away with it because there is not a direct charge for viewing it.

In fact, Google's imagery is terrible in my area - poor contrast and heavy tree cover that obscures just about everything in the woods. The State of NJ has very high quality orthoimagery taken in the Winter at 1 foot/pixel and it's free/public domain. This is what Birdseye uses in my area.

You don't have to pay anything to load BirdsEye on your computer and see if you like the quality. If you don't like it, don't buy it. No purchase is necessary until you want to unlock it for the GPS.
