I have just bought a Montana 600 and City Navigator NA NT 2012. When I open BaseCamp it sees all my old City Navigators and starts by teling me they are locked. I got an unlock key for CN 7 which I use on my Garmin iQue 3600 but still get the message for CN4 and CN5. How do I remove them so BaseCamp doesn't even see them?

For maps in Garmin's old format (older than 2 or 3 years I think), they may be removed in the same way as programs on your computer - Programs and Features control panel on Win 7 and Vista or Add/Remove Programs on Win XP. You will find an item there for the City Navigator map which can be uninstalled.

For maps in Garmin's new .gmap format, you will find a folder in C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\Maps (Win 7 and Vista) or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps (Win XP). The folder will have the name of the map product, such as "City Navigator North America NT 2011.20.gmap". Deleting that folder and its contents will remove the map.

BUT... I suggest backing up your computer before doing any of this, "just in case". :)

I finally got up the nerve to remove the older versions and that took care of this issue for me, thanks!
