Problem loading/running Basecamp

I'm using the Dell inspiron 1525 and I just downloaded Basecamp from the posted Garmin site. After following the instructions, it seemed to load properly and no errors were reported. When I tried running basecamp I continue to receive the following message:
Application failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

Any idea as to what this means or what I need to do in order to get this program running? -G

I don't have a good solution for you. Something is wrong with either BaseCamp's installation, or the Windows components needed to run the program.

Please try to re-install BaseCamp first.

If that doesn't work you could try to run http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dependency_Walker to find out which DLL might be missing.

I assume you are running Windows Vista? I have had the same issue, also on a Dell Inspiron. See the discussion here: https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?t=17558

Same problem on HP Compaq running Vista. Latest version of BaseCamp that install without 'side by side' error is 3.2.1. If I install 3.2.2 from scratch or as an update to previously installed version it fails with 'side by side' error.

Here is the error log just in case it means anything to anyone who can help.

DId you read the other thread I linked to above and try the same solution that worked to TOMKK?

:D OK, I backed up to v2.0.5 and that worked OK. Installed the latest (3.2.2) on top of 2.0.5 and that worked as well. Apparently something missing in the 3.2.2 install package., at least for 32 bit Vista.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes that was the first thing I tried, but update to 3.2.2 still causes the 'side by side' error when I try to lauch BaseCamp.

I tried about 5 more versions between 2.05 and 3.22 with the same thing happening. The early versions work on their own, but then fails after update to 3.2.2. Bit of a faff - I only get about 100kbs download baud rate, so rather frustrating at each fail.

Tried deleting everything and then fresh install of 3.2.2 from the garmin downloads - still causes error at lauch.

For the time being I can at least use 3.2.1, albeit having to halt any update to 3.2.2 request each time I lauch 3.2.1. Anyway not too far behind - wait and see what happens at 3.2.3.
