Divide Tool makes an unnecessary duplicate waypoint

Take a simple route, Start, End and one waypoint. Use the Divide Tool to split this route into two routes, The Start of the second route will be "waypoint1" rather than reusing "waypoint". While I can manually add "waypoint" as a new start of that second route and remove "waypoint1" that is extra work and would not be necessary if BC reused "waypoint" when dividing the route.
This is actually by design, and has been requested by users (so it would be easier to divide and then edit the second resulting route without changing anything in the first, like moving the waypoint that both share).
I agree that in your use-case the current behavior is not ideal, but there are currently no plans to change it.
