Apologies if this has been asked before, I have searched but couldnt quite find the info I was looking for.
1/ Looking at getting the Oregon 450 and SD card with 1:50 UK OS map complete, and I saw somewhere else that Basecamp will not upload data from the 450 from the SD card making Basecamp unusable. Is this still actually the case or will I be able to design walks on basecamp and load them to the GPS unit?
2/ Is Basecamp a free service? Not seen any info on subs or fees so assuming it is.

Update. Garmin emailed me back the answers. Got the 450 and OS map, a bit of agro setting up but OK now.
