Troubles w Google maps coordinates into BaseCamp

Please help me.
I am simply trying to import google maps coordinates into a basecamp waypoint. It doesn't matter how I rearrange the coordinates, they're not going in. I've tried playing with the grid and datum settings.

These are the coordinates.
50.795953,-115.659943

Please help me.
Seems like it should be much easier than it is!

Thanks

I know, its kind of a pain....
    Google Earth uses decimal-ed degrees.
Basecamp can do several formats, including degrees/mins/seconds, degrees/decimaled-minutes, and decimaled-degrees, Go Tools->Options->Measurement. Toward the bottom under Grid select "Lat/Lon Hdd.ddddd".

Then, you can paste in the Google Earth coordinates, but you still have to tweak it: add "N" in front of the first one, followed by "W" in place of the "-", and change the comma to a space.... so your coordinates will look like:
    N50.795953 W115.659943 (Somewhere near Calgary?)

If you have a bunch, consider saving them in a kml/kmz file, and importing that into basecamp (and if basecamp doesnt like your kml/kmz as it often doesnt, try running it thru http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert_input?convert_format=gpx and then import that).

    Doesn't work

Tried that, but it doesn't work.
    Am I doing it right?
I am dropping a new waypoint on the map, clicking on it, and editing the position. It simply won't take it.

    N50.795953 W115.659943

Very frustrating that such a simple operation is so difficult with this program.
I mean, why wouldn't it be simpler to set a waypoint?
Why not work with google in the first place.
Sorry for venting. I appreciate your help.
    Thanks.

    It works! But it's silly!

K, so I got it to work.
Did it like you said, but when I put the coordinates in, it binged at me like they were bogus. Then I had to close the waypoint over the map by hitting the red X and then it moved to where I want it!

    How utterly counterintuitive is that!

I don't want to be a hater, but this program is really poorly executed.
I mean, don't these guys USE the stuff they make?

Ahh, it's OK. I'll figure it out.

    Thanks for your help!
