Auto DB Backups? If not...Add Please.

Moving over from MapSource so I am still getting used to this new whiz bang software. Advanced Mapsource user so transition has been slow but steady.

Anyways......I found the manual datafile backup is there an automated backup done? If not how about at least adding an auto db backup to a user specified folder say every 5 times the program is run?

I have over 70 Mapsource files I would like to take in to BC and ensure they get backed up regularly to my offsite backup service. Currently all of my MS files are in the My Garmin folder and I simply have that whole folder replicated offsite every day. Can this be process be done in BC without manually backing the db file up to that folder?

Currently running 3.2.2.

That would be very nice! Quicken (the checkbook software) has had this feature for quite a long time. A configurable option to remind of backups every X starts or exits. . I have it set to "1" exit so every time I close, it prompts.... and it remembers the file path I used last (which is a network-attached drive). And it also has an option to add a date-stamp of the file (so you can keep multiple backups) and a maximum number of backups to save (I keep 9). And of course there is a manual backup button which I use (giving a different file name) when I'm about to do some major rework, or experimentation.

Currently BaseCamp has a basic auto backup/recover feature, but its limited to waypoints, routes, tracks and list data.

Anyway, I like the configurable auto backup idea. I will add it to our wish list ;)

BaseCamp's data files can be found at
    %appdata%\GARMIN\BaseCamp

You can setup your offsite backup to copy that directory.
