Can't Install Basecamp on new Oregon 450

Garmin is weirding me out. I have tried all afternoon to install basecamp. I have windows xp, with a 3 level of service. Our data streamlining is working. we also tried on a 2nd newer laptop. When installing, it shows data sheets flying through the air, but either it never starts, or starts and then stalls. If I keep trying - once - it showed it as installed. then when finishing the installat a box appeared that said something is missing from garmin.

Even this forum is weirding me out. Because I posted a thread about this, then couldn't log on to add to it.

The other thread you posted was in the wrong place - in the Macintosh forum: https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?t=22328

Sorry, from your description I'm not sure what is wrong. Perhaps you have some antivirus software that is creating a problem? One time when I upgraded to a new version of Basecamp I had a problem that was somewhat similar. I simply downloaded the file again and it installed and started properly. Have you tried downloading again?

Thanks! Yes, I guess I was in the wrong forum.

It was getting late, so I kept trying to download Basecamp...over and over again. Most times, the pop-up window showed 0 % loaded, "blank" transfer rate, and "blank" est. time left. Yet the page icon was "flying."

My wife is very knowledgeable of downloading. She tried everything - different browser, disabled firewall, different laptop, etc. She said the problem is on Garmin's side, as our side was working properly. She assumed Garmin was down for maintenance or something.

I kept trying...maybe 200 times. Funny...every once in a while, I would get some activity...% increasing, transfer rate showing, time left decreasing...then it would reach some percent - like 8, 15, 28, 40 52 - and then stall out. I would reclick.

Finally, it went through 100%. I was able to load maps. I still have some issues, like all 3 maps having Washington subheadings on my garmin - even though only 1 of the 3 sets is in Washington. But I have made progress.

Today I tried to download basecamp again...and the same thing happens - 0%, no activity. I don't feel like trying 100 times again. So we still have no idea why this is happening.

Oh - and on this forum - if I log in on the opening page, it logs me in. Then when click on a post and try to respond, I get a "Bulletin Message" to log in. If I try to log in, it says my attempt is not successful. Go figure. So here, I'll try sending a private message.

    Doesn't Garmin Like My Computer?

As an alternative, you can get BaseCamp 3.2.2 here:
    http://www.gawisp.com/perry/mapsource/BaseCamp_322.exe

If you are still having problem, please post a screenshot or the error message.
