Do I have to buy BaseCamp? I have downloaded and installed it but when I try to use it the everything on the tool, file etc. are greyed out. Is this a bug or do I have to buy a version since the free version is not working. I am on a PC with Windows7 and normally use MapSource which I don't have a problem with but hear it is on it's last update.
BaseCamp is a free program there is no paid version...
(Not on my Windows PC right now so I can't really help much on the other problem you might be having)
If you have a newer Garmin device plug it into the PC and wait a while for the initial maps on the device to show up on your PC (they will only do so while its plugged in) The first time it takes some time --- the maps aren't actually transferred Basecamp just builds some sort of index.
