Okay maybe I'm dumb... Using good ol' MapSource I can select an area on the map of the roads data that I want to transfer to my GPSr. The I choose "transfer" and the selected data are transferred. With BaseCamp I select the roads data layer (City Navigator North America NT) then select the area that I want to transfer. Nothing appears in My Collection; the image just sits there. Since MapSource is being discontinued :( , I want to know how to put the roads (and other data) on my GPSr. BTW, TOPO US 24K Southwest data transfer with no problem.
BaseCamp invokes MapInstall to install maps. Whenever you install BaseCamp MapInstall gets installed along it.
In BaseCamp, connect your device, select the map you would like to transfer, then single-left-click on 'All Data' below the device.
Go to the menu, Tools -> Install maps on...
Or, right-click on 'All Data' below the device, you should also find an 'Install maps on' option.
This will launch MapInstall, pre-select your device and map and allow you to select the tiles for transferring to your device.
If you want to select the tiles based on which waypoints, routes, tracks etc. you have in BaseCamp, MapInstall has an option to select the tiles you need to cover the area the user data is in.
