Another feature request

I like the 3D option of BaseCamp, especially since I plan my hikes in the Alps.
However, it would be a great help if panning, tilting and moving around the 3D map was done in the same way as in Google Earth. Now the controls are a bit confusing ...

(I know, it is somewhat of a cosmetic feature, and I can understand if you guys choose to not change the control. In that case, I can always ask Google to adjust their controls to yours :D)

I wouldn't count on that. :)

We'll revisit the controls for the 3D view at some point.

Yes, That is a great idea. I use Google Earth a lot then come back to B.C. and I have to learn how to do it all over again.

I won't hold my breath!

Like it or not, Google is a giant, and as such has a tendancy to set de facto standards in many areas. (Same can be said for Garmin, in various aspects, but not all). As a result, I believe that Google Earth's widespread use by folks with and without Garmin devices, and its free availability, has led to its becoming the standard against which all other similar applications are measured.

I don't disagree. We'll just have to see when we find time for this.
