Unfortunately, there are a few issues with the new release 3.2.1 of BaseCamp that might affect you as a user.
1. I get asked to fix my KML data every time I launch BaseCamp 3.2.1. Even though I hit fix, the message comes back every time.
While this message certainly is annoying, you can simply ignore it. Hit 'Fix' and you should be able to use BaseCamp as usual.
If you encounter a situation where you have KML data (i.e. Custom Maps) that worked in the previous 3.1.3 version of BaseCamp but cannot be used with 3.2.1, please contact us, and provide us with the Custom Maps, if possible.
2. I duplicated a track and did some manipulation on it. I seem to lose elevation or time-stamp data on one of the resulting tracks
There are some issues with track duplication. We would recommend not to duplicate tracks with BaseCamp 3.2.1. You can achieve a duplicate track by other means: copying a track (Ctrl-C), then renaming it and pasting (Ctrl-V). Duplication of other data (waypoints, routes) works as expected.
3. I upgraded to BaseCamp 3.2.1. The upgrade seemed to work ok. I can see my old data just fine. However, after I start BaseCamp 3.2.1 the second time, I get asked to fix the 'list data file' (see screenshot attached). If I do click 'Fix', a lot of my data is missing. By checking out the database file at %APPDATA%\GARMIN\BaseCamp\Database\3.2\alldata.gdb I notice the file has gotten a lot smaller.
This issue appears to only occur if you had waypoints with photos in your database. It doesn't happen for everyone, but there is a pretty good chance you will be seeing this if you were using geo-tagged photos.
What we recommend in this case is to do the following.
1. Clear out the 3.2 database folder, in order to delete the corrupted database. You can do this by using Windows Exlorer (not Internet Explorer) and type in "%APPDATA%\GARMIN\BaseCamp\Database" (without quotes). I attached a screen-shot for clarification. Then delete the 3.2 folder within that directory. If there are any other folders in that directory, leave those alone.
2. Install BaseCamp 3.1.3. You should be able to find the installer at http://www.gawisp.com/perry/mapsource/BaseCamp_313.exe.
All of these issues will be resolved in a 3.2.2 maintenance release.
