Basecamp Waypoint Importing

Im trying to bring waypoints from my old GPS to my new GPS (Garmin 62s). I have them in a spreadsheet right now and I was going to manually enter them all typing in each coordinate and name but that would take forever. I decided to see what type of files can be imported from Basecamp and this is what it says:

Importing Data
You can import the following file types.

GPS Exchange Format (.gpx)
Garmin GPS Database (.gdb)
Garmin Training Center (.tcx)
GPS Location (.loc)
Garmin Custom Map (.kml or .kmz)
Photo (.jpg or .jpeg)

Is there a way to convert an excel spreadsheet or access database file to a Garmin GPS Database (.gdb) file or any other file type so that I can upload these waypoints without the manual input?

Thanks,
Reggie
  • There are programs, like GPS Babel (GPS Visualizer online), that will convert from CSV to GPX. Basecamp will open a GPX file.

You may need to fiddle with the order of the columns in the CSV file to be sure you get Lat and Lon in the right order for the conversion.
