Custom Maps in My Collection

If I have custom maps in My Collection in BaseCamp I receive a BaseCamp Initialization message when the program starts. "Cannot load following areas: KML Data". I select "fix", basecamp opens and all is well including the custom maps. It doesn't matter if the device is connected to the computer or not.

If I delete the custom maps from My Collection, I do not receive this message and do not see the custom maps unless the device is connected.

Do you have some Custom Maps in your collection that do not display correctly (images that are missing)?

Can you try deleting them one-by-one to identify the map that causes the 'fix' message?

We are working on fixing this issue with BaseCamp 3.2.2, so we would love some more feedback to make sure we are fixing the right thing.

All of my custom maps display correctly both in BaseCamp and on the GPSMAP 62s.

I placed 6 custom maps in a "custom maps" folder in My Collections. They displayed correctly once BaseCamp is open. I deleted them one at a time and re-opened BaseCamp. Each time, I received the error message. When all were deleted, the error message did not occur.

The presence of items in the custom maps folder on the 62s SD card does not present a problem, only when one or more are in My Collections.

Odd.

I would love to take a look at your data so I could trouble-shoot this. You shouldn't be getting the fix message if all Custom maps are valid.

If you feel comfortable doing so, please do the following.

Use Windows File Explorer (not Internet Explorer) and type "%APPDATA%\GARMIN\BaseCamp" (without quotes). Zip up what is in that folder.

That file is probably gonna be too big to be emailed. So now upload that zip-file somewhere (some free file sharing website, or maybe use http://www.dropbox.com/) and send me the link in a private message.

I should then be able to look at what is causing that message to appear.

I've got to look into some means of file sharing. In the meantime, I'll just not have the custom maps in BaseCamp. If need be, I can always view them in BC when the 62s is connected.

basecamp kmz file problem

Basecamp 3.1.3 has no problem with my custom map kmz files created by Google Earth.
Basecamp 3.2.1 will import and display custom map kmz files happily until it is shut down and reopened; it then tries to "fix" these files, they no longer display and their image "dimension" in the map "properties" shows as ???x???

I have reverted to using Basecamp 3.1.3.

Can anyone point me to custom map kmz files that display this behavior?

I'd really like to fix this for 3.2.2.

BC v3.2.2 solved the custom maps problem for me. The maps I have created so far have been via Google Earth.Thanks
