Please Help BaseCamp Application won't start

Hi
Don't know what to do now because I ran a disk clean up program called PC Care and I think it has done something to my BaseCamp program which was fine before that ~ now I am unable to start Basecamp as a window pops up and says'Basecamp Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you are in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. So why do you think this is happening?
I have uninstalled the program and downloaded the new version but it still does the same thing ~ I have done a System Restore but it still doesn't work so any suggestions please as to why the Application won't open. I am using Windows XP
Otherwise how can I view my maps?

Try downloading the newest version of BaseCamp at http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4435 and see if that one works.

As I said in my message above I have done this twice and I have just tried it again and for some reason when it is being installed and it says preparing shortcuts when it has finished and says 'Launch BaseCamp' the pc runbles like it's going to start but nothing happens and there is no icon on the desktop so I have to go to Start and Programmes to find the icon but when I double click on it nothing happens again but that window and message comes up 'Sorry etc' so what do you think is wrong and how else can I view my maps?

Thanks for your reply but I said PC Care but the one I have is really called Advanced System Care 4 (Company 10bit) My son uses this program and has never had any problems on his pc. I have just looked at the Malwarebytes program and it seems the same sort of thing as the 10bit malware program which is what I used in the first place that makes me think it removed something that was needed for the BaseCamp program to run so I am afraid to remove anything else. I really am in dire straights now as I keep trying to run the BaseCamp program and it just won't start.

Advanced System Care creates a rollback point whenever it attempts to fix an error, so you can probably go back if something goes wrong-
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is just an anti malware scanner.;)

Thanks I have done the roll back and the Basecamp program still won't work and I tried going back to another day but it wasn't successful so still none the wiser.

Can anyone tell me if I can buy Basecamp on disk? as I have been here now for hours trying everything suggestion possible and I am so upset now as I am unable to use my GPS. There is no way this stupid program will open I am really fed up with it now.

I would try a clean uninstall using something like Revo Uninstaller. If you use it, let it do its second stage, where it searches for stuff in your Registry and delete all it finds. THen on stage three, it may find more folders to delete, delete them all.

Now download BaseCamp one more time and see if it runs.

I did that last night, I used the advanced option and deleted all and downloaded a complete new download but on clicking on the icon in the list of programmes to start Basecamp it was just the same so what can I do now?

Perhaps it's time to find a cheap PC that runs Windows 7? ;) Seriously, if you place a value on your time, at some point you might just want to cut your losses...
