Birdseye images memory limit?

Is the limit really 15000 images regardless of how much storage you have on the microSD card? I have the Oregon 550t with an 8GB microSD card and I can still only transfer 15000 images which is not a lot of data at all. With high quality images I can only cover about 300 miles. IMO standard quality images are not even worth downloading. Any info on if I am doing something incorrect or if there are plans to increase the limit would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

You have no reason to complain, I can only download 280 images in standaard detail, when I ask for 14000 images in Highest detail.
  • I am able to download larger chunks of maps now, but it is exceedingly slow.

Yesterday I downloaded a small segment (74 square km) totaling 4303 segments in Highest resolution. It took almost exactly an hour to download what turned out to be a 40.7MB file.

My internet connection tests consistently at 17-19Mbps (very, very fast). Is Garmin purposely limiting the bandwidth on these Birdseye transfers?
  • I don't think we are going to get Birdseye fixed by whining about it here. Everyone who is dissatisfied with the way it works should open a support ticket with Garmin. I just did. Perhaps if enough people do, it will get some attention from Garmin.
