Another Problem With Uploads To Garmin Connect After Basecamp

I am using the 3.2.0.2 Basecamp Beta.

I forgot to reset my Garmin 450 between rides on June 14 and 16. I was able to upload the combined track to Garmin Connect but did not like the combination. I split the gpx in Basecamp by deleting the June 14 points from one copy of the track and the June 16 points from another copy. After that I could not load either track into Garmin Connect. I just get the message:

"An error occurred with your upload. Please try again."

I tried both Firefox and IE9 with the same result. I am including the original gpx and my 2 modified gpx's for you to look at. These have not been exported by Basecamp. They are right off of my 450.

One file, Track, had some timestamps out of order at the very beginning causing it to not load.

Track0 had the word stopwatch in the track name which caused it to not load.

Both Track and Track0 are the same track so I corrected Track0 and named it "Track0_14-JUN-11.gpx"

Track_16-JUN-11 020704 had the wrong time in the track name. It has to be the start time. I corrected that and renamed it "Track_16-JUN-11.gpx"

Both tracks uploaded into GC for me so I zipped them down and attached.
  • Thanks so much. I will try them. I sure wish Basecamp had a direct interface with Garmin Connect.

By the way, how are you viewing/editing the gpx files?

I have been using MapSource since 1998. It seems to do everything I need as far as gpx editing. I tested BaseCamp last year and it did not work any better than what I had so I stayed with MapSource.

The one extra feature in BaseCamp (missing from MapSource) that I really liked was its ability to view the map files inside your gps.
