Joining tracks/making them non-directional

Is there any way to convert tracks into non-directional tracks in Basecamp? I have mountain bike tracks that are divided into interconnected little sub-tracks.

I'm trying to connect all the little tracks that show up individually on my oregon 550 in one big track. When I combine the tracks in basecamp where it's a maze of looping and random directions i get random cross connecting lines between the beginning and ending points of the individual tracks.

So the basic question is if there is any way of converting tracks into non-directional trails such that I could enable a single consolidated track on the gps (without the ridiculous cross-connecting track lines).

Thanks

I've had this problem in Mapsource. It was easy to solve. If Basecamp is anything like Mapsource, you can reverse the direction of a track before joining it to the bigger one you are building. A small nuisance but quite workable. When you're done, the big track is still "directional" but that's not usually an issue for someone viewing it.

My bigger problem was remembering to join them at the proper ends.

    Thanks for the reply,

unfortunately the tracks don't start and end in the exact same point for this to be the solution. Think of a main track with off-shooting trails that begin and end midway. I can't link the smaller trails to the middle of the main track without an unwanted connecting line to the beginning of the main track.

Hopefully that explanation is somewhat clear and not too confusing.

No, I understand exactly what you mean. Do those branch tracks actually end at the tip (farthest point from where they branch from the main? I normally have the GPS on and tracking all the time so those types of branches contain the trackpoints both going out and coming back.

There is still a solution, although it's a little more work. In Mapsource I can copy a track and reverse it. Then I can join it with it's mirror image, the original it was copied from. Then it can be joined with the main "trunk" so it shows as "out and back" rather than leaving the tip "open" and tempting the program to try to close the loop somewhere. Kind of messy, I admit.
