generate elevation information for a track without elevation info

In BaseCamp Mac version I can generate elevation information for waypoints of a track which I download somewhere in Internet and may not have complete elevation information.

But I can not find such feature in Win version.
Btw. I have garmin topo map.

This is on our to-do-list. Not sure when we will get around to it.

That feature would be great for planning my MTB rides in Basecamp. I did not know it was already available for Mac.

Oh yes it would be great! I have already requested it here :

On the Mac forum, I was told that they had a command named "Set Point(s) to map elevation"

Even for tracks WITH elevation data, since the elevation data from the GPS is usually less accurate than the data from the map!

And even more important because the Garmin Etrex DISPLAYS the right elevation from the Topo map but RECORDS inaccurate elevation (often below the sea level...), presumably computed from some satellite triangulation...

It's not in 3.2.1. Perhaps in the next release? :)

For the time being you can create elevation profiles in Google Earth as follows:

Export the track in BaseCamp as a gpx of kml file
Load the file in Google Earth
Right click on the item in the Google Earth objects tree and select the elevation profile from the dropdown menu

It's still on our list. It didn't make it for 3.2, there was only so much we could squeeze in.

In general, PC/Mac feature parity is pretty high on our list, so hopefully you won't have to wait too long for this to make it into the PC version.
