Routing

Hi,

I am routing for my cycle ride, I like the auto routing, but my some of my way points are off road, if I put it a route like this "road - off road - road" it will not route it though the off road bit but go round a messive circle; but if I put it in straight line setting I will loss the turn by turn guidance. how can I change the setting so the route can display correctly?

Regards.

Yesterday when I was putzing around with routes in the national forest I found a setting at: Tools>Options>Routing>Transportation Method that may be what you're looking for.

I don't know for sure, I couldn't find any write up about it and where I was planning routes there aren't any roads anyway.

I've put it on Bicycle already but the same problem happens.

BaseCamp does not have an option to mix auto routes and direct routes. So if there are parts of your route where you have to use direct route, then, your best bet is to split it into multiple routes.

There is a work-around in the current BaseCamp version that might work to mix direct and auto-routing.

While using the route tool, switch between the BaseMap (which has no auto-routing for the direct parts of the route) and your auto-routing map and it might work. (Recalculating will of cause get rid of this.)

This is more of a side-effect than a feature and no guarantees that it will work, but that seemed to do it for me.
