Hallo, when running the current BaseCamp on Windows Vista 32bit followig error message appears.
<Side-by-Side- Configuration incorrect>
Any idea to solve this?
I have two BC 3.2.2 new installations, 64 bit Windows 7 and 32 bit Vista. The Windows 7 installation is working OK but the Vista installation has the "side-by-side configuration incorrect" error. This is my first use of BC so no prior versions had been installed. I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice but the error persists.
I've contacted Garmin Support about this but just hoping for some info here before they get back to me.
I got the "side by side" error once when I upgraded Basecamp (running Vista 64). Googled around for a solution and didn't really find any. So I uninstalled the program, downloaded it again, installed and it worked fine. Have you done that (ie: not just re-installed but downloaded a fresh copy and installed it)?

Not until you mentioned it. Good idea, though, and I just did that. :( Unfortunately it didn't help, the error persists with the new download & install.
Older versions of Basecamp are archived here. You might work your way backwards and see if one of them works properly. http://www.gawisp.com/perry/mapsource/
:D OK, I backed up to v2.0.5 and that worked OK. Installed the latest (3.2.2) on top of 2.0.5 and that worked as well. Apparently something missing in the 3.2.2 install package., at least for 32 bit Vista.
