Hi,
I recently heard about Birdseye, bought a subscription, and have put a lot of time/effort into downloading Birdseye images for areas that I go to regularly.
Apart from the download time I'm actually pretty pleased with Birdseye. The accuracy seems to be within a few feet, for areas I have tested so far and the images don't seem washed out, as others have commented on.
Anyway, on to the problem !
I have just bought a new PC and have re-loaded/copied all my files and software over to it, including Basecamp.
I ran a backup of Basecamp on my old PC and have copied the file (all 7gb of it) over to the new PC and 'restored' Basecamp from the backup.
I have my waypoints and geocaches all back, but not the Birdseye files. At first I had the orange/red outline boxes of each area I had downloaded and the title, but no actual birdseye images i nthe boxes. I just see the normal Basecamp basemap with the box around the birdseye areas. Having closed and re-opened the program the 76 birdseye image titles I have downloaded show in the list at the bottom of the screen when I click on the birdseye logo, but I don't even have the box outlines on the map now.
I got a message on screen to say 'Birdeye files need initiating' (or something similar, I didn't write it down) but there seems to be no option to 'initiate' the birdseye images anywherein basecamp that I can see.
I have thought about locating and copying just the JNX files from the old PC to the same folder on the new one, rather than using the backup/restore method, but didn't want to go any further in case there was a known problem or easy solution.
It seems that the Birdseye files ahave not restored properly from the backup.
I have tried re-running the backup on the old PC and have re-run the restore several times on the new one. Still the same result.
I hope my explanation of the problem is clear enough - Any help would be very much appreciated.
Rob
