Export Waypoints to a "txt" file for GIS

I noticed a couple of posting about exporting the waypoint and tracks to be used in ArcGIS. Besides teaching GPS to educators, we also teach GIS. I agree it should be an option in BaseCamp. This will make professionals in the GIS profession more interested in using Garmins.

In terms of export, it would be good to have an option to export the waypoints as well as an option to export tracks since they are used differently in a GIS app.

MDNR has a freebee which works most of the time. The one question that came up is what should the export be - a simple "txt" or "csv" format would be great.

also what should it look like? Below is an example of a download from the MDNR data for waypoints off a 72H

    Ed,

Did you know that you can load a .GPX file in Excel? GPS is just a variant of XML. Once you have it in Excel you can save it as a number of different file types, including .CSV or tab delimited text.

I've done this with waypoints. I haven't done it with tracks but it should work.
