transfering routes from basecamp to a 255W

I created a route in basecamp and tried to send to or export it to a Garmin 255W.

I can see the route on the SD card, but I can't get the GPS unit to recognize or load the route for navigation.

Can you provide a procedure for route transfers from basecamp to a 255W?

Nobody can provide that for you I'm afraid. Your Nuvi 255w just doesn't support custom routes, regardless of what you are able to create on the computer. Some Nuvi's do support this feature, but unfortunately yours does not. :(
