Cannot edit in Basecamp

I'm assuming you meant that you are unable to edit anything on the device. Your device does not allow direct editing of data from external applications. So that behavior is expected. Regardless of the device, BaseCamp lets you edit data on your computer (My Collection).

Ok, got it. It doesn't work like my old GPS unit. I thought since it was a big step up you could update locations via the computer.

It just confuses me though. What would be the purpose of mapping software if it can't be used to pin-point a location and save it to the GPS?

There is a POI loader that works. I even dumped locations directly to the card and it works.

So, what is the purpose of Basecamp?
