Geocache labels

I've just downloaded Basecamp 3.1.2 and connected it to my Oregon 400t. I then transferred the geocaches stored in my Oregon to Basecamp by double-clicking on the file name. The geocaches show up on the Basecamp map (I'm using the OS GB Discoverer map) with the geocache symbol and the GC12345 code as their name. If I select a geocache in Basecamp, I can change it to show the geocache symbol and the comment field (which holds the textual name for the cache such as 'Hanford Hills'. But this is a very lengthy process for the 2000 caches you can store in my Oregon!

Is there a way to make this change for all geocaches (by a global change, or preference setting)? If not could it be added in a future version please?

Thanks,

Chris

By default GeoCaches will show up like you want to in BaseCamp. For example, see screenshot

The reason it isn't working for you has to do with GeoCache data in a format that BaseCamp doesn't currently support. Try the solution in the related discussion here.

Thanks for the reply. That sounds like it is the problem as I download PQs in the new GC format before loading them into GSAK, and then to my Oregon. The list in Basecamp was then transferred from my Oregon so it seems that for some reason Basecamp can't use the data while the Oregon can. How odd!!

I can't remember now why I decided to use the new GC format rather than the old format, but will have to investigate this before changing back to the old format.

    Found it now...

GPX1.0.1 includes attributes in the cache data, which is then visible on my Oregon. This is too useful a feature for me to change back to the previous GPX1.0 format, so I'll stick with the new version thanks and wait for Basecamp to catch up.
