BirdsEye with Dakota 20

I bought the Dakota 20 this Sunday. I upgraded its firmware. The About screen says Software Version 2.10 / GPS Software Version: 3.40. I downloaded and installed BaseCamp v3.1.1 on my PC running Vista 64 bit OS. I purchased the Satellite Imagery Subscription tonight at REI. I went to www.Garmin.com/actuvatecard and activated the card under myGarmin account (rdpetersongps). I see it listed in myMaps for my device. I launch BaseCamp. I connect my device. I see my device listed in left top panel of BaseCamp with All Data folder. I goto Tools > Download BirdsEye Imagery.... or File > New > BirdsEye Imagery. I get the following message in a dialog popup box:

To use this feature, connect a device that supports the BirdsEye Imagery feature. I fyou continue to get this error, try again after performing a device software update. More Details.

Also, when I go to Tools > Mange Map Products... it only shows the Global Map 2.00 item.

I tried reconnecting the device and restarting BaseCamp without any success.

How do I get BaseCamp to recongnize that my accont has this device with the subscription tied to it? I can send screenshot if you wish. Would like to get this done before I go out of town on geocaching trip Thursday-Sunday. After all, this trip is the reason why I purchased it.

First of all, you've done a very good job of providing detailed descriptions of the problem :-)

The issue here is that your device does not have the latest firmware. The version you have (2.10) does not advertise BirdsEye support.

    Try these:
    1. Disconnect the device, let it start up. The device might tell you that it has found an update and it is performing this update. Once it finishes, verify that it's Software Version is 3.70.
    2. Run WebUpdater. Follow prompts to transfer the latest software to the device. Disconnect the device and let the device apply the update.

Reconnect the device to your computer and launch BaseCamp.
