Basecamp crashes on launch

Hi, I started to pile on to this thread: https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?t=12675 but decided that my issue is a little different due to the hardware situation. I am trying to run basecamp on a Viliv N5 UMPC. See here: http://www.dynamism.com/notebooks/viliv-n5.shtml

It is basically a netbook with atom z520 (1.33GHz), 1GB RAM, GMA500 graphics, 32 GB SSD. I have updated my graphics driver to the latest from intel: 8.14.10.2026. Basically what happens is, if I delete directories as from this post: https://forums.garmin.com/showpost.php?p=58789&postcount=2
basecamp starts up just fine. I have a backup of my data that I created on another machine that I load up and everything works. Until, I shut down and restart basecamp, at which point I get a message to upgrade my video driver, followed by a crash.

Here is the Win7 error message:

This is not going to be very helpful but there are other folks using other software who are having the same sort of problem.

    This link is an example:

    http://community.intuit.com/posts/appcrash-msvcr90dll-windows-7-64-bit-qb-financials-pro-2010

There is some suggestion that removing and reinstall any .net stuff up to at least level 3.5 might help; with the emphasis on the word MIGHT.

The faulting module MSCVR90.dll appears to be part of the Microsoft C++ runtime. It is not unknown for Microsoft to sometimes push out runtime changes that break perfectly good code --- not saying it happened here or that its even particularly relevant, merely a possibility. Lots of Google hits on that dll.

Followed your machine link --- really sweet!

    Didn't Work

Augustfalcon, Thanks for the tip, I did try a bunch of different versions of Visual C++ but none of them helped. I guess for now the only thing I can do is blitz the directories and then reload a backup. Kind of a pain but it works. It would be great if basecamp were more stable and could handle memory better. Even on my beefy desktop, it bogs down if I have a bunch of birdseye images on it....
