Just so I understand correctly is the map City Navigator ® Europe NT 2011 is one that was pre-loaded on your unit, one you purchased and downloaded or one that was upgraded via our Retail Map Update software?

OK thanks. I'll see what I can find out. Have you noticed when you first plug in the device do you see BaseCamp try to read the map (probably named GMAPPROM at the beginning) before it turns into a red bar and disappears?

I'm curious to know if it tries to read it at all or just skips over trying to read the map.

Have you ever used your 3790 with a mac? I've gotten word from some of my colleagues that there may be an issue with these units after they've been used on a mac where files are corrupted.

FWIW, I just plugged my 3790t into my computer and it read the gmapprom.img file after a few minutes. Everything works properly and I can view the map in BaseCamp. I have also done a nuMaps update on my 3790t. Under map properties is says

City Navigator North America NT 2011.2 v20.11
    J:\SYSTEM\GMAPPROM.IMG

This was done with BaseCamp on my Windows Vista 64 machine. I also have a Mac, but have never connected the 3790t to it (as far as I can remember). Also, FWIW, when it reads the maps I see a GREEN progress bar, not a red one. :)

I assume that you know this... but just in case, after BaseCamp finishes reading the map file you must select the City Navigator map using the dropdown menu at the top left of the window.

Hi, I've never used a MAC. I have a PC and a laptop with Windows 7 and in both cases is the same.
With another 3790T and no problems. I sent for repair and replaced it with another.
The only thing different I did was update before connecting to BaseCamp.

A greeting and thanks for your interest.

Hello, sorry I can not help ... I have only Windows PCs. In my case, find the file if found GMAPROM.IMG but the bar is red or not recognized?
