Has anyone found a way to reliably send waypoints from basecamp to a 3790T? When I copy/sendTo the device in basecamp they show under the device's data. But when I actually eject the 3790T and look, about 95% of the time they aren't on the device. It gets really frustrating spending an hour or so doing a whole bunch of transfer attempts, reboot the device, see if they're there, nope try again... each time I want to get waypoints to it.
The 3790t has a problem where if you “Safely remove hardware and eject media” through Windows before unplugging the USB cable, it will usually lose whatever data you sent to it. This applies to firmware updates too. Though it seems counterintuitive and a little risky, you need to simply unplug the 3790t, and you’ll probably find it has kept the data. Just make absolutely sure there is no data still being written to or from the device. Hopefully Garmin will address this issue. Other forums have discussed this at length.
Thanks, I actually figured that out for myself a couple days ago. Trying to add a new waypoint, I finally got pissed and just pulled the plug, and there it was! I hope Garmin fixes it at some point.
