transfered route only shows straight lines between route points

hi,

when I create a new route on mapsource or basecamp and transfer it to my oregon 450, it doesn't show the exact route as I created it on basecamp. It only shows the route points that I clicked to create the route with straight lines to interconnect them. What do I do wrong.

What maps are installed on your GPS?

I have some selected maps from, belgium installed on the root folder (transfered selected maps from mapsource to device) and I have also the complete map of th e transalps (austria) installed as a micro SD. On both maps it behaves the same.

Typically, the behavior you're seeing happens when the installed maps don't support auto-routing. Or if the Guidance Method (Setup/Routing/Guidance Method) is set to "Off Road."

Spot on. I had indeed the routing set to off road. Thanks a lot Fritz
