custom waypoint symbols in basecamp, 62s

howdy. just got the 62s/ having trouble with custom waypoint symbols I used successfully on my old 60csx. They appear in Basecamp (& mapsource) as the custom icons I supplied, but on the 62s itself they are defaulting to the blue flag..

I've copied the relevant waypoint bitmap files to /garmin/custom symbols directory on the 62s, but nowhere in the waypoint symbol menus for the 62s do I see an section for "custom"

Am I missing something?
Or will this have to wait for a firmware revision to the 62s?

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with our new GpsMap 62. Your best bet would be to shoot an e-mail to our product support group http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/us/support/supportcontact

tried that.. hearing "thats not a feature of the 62" Odd since the /Garmin/Custom Symbols directory is on the unit, just not doing anything in the current firmware revision.

Solved.

copying waypoint symbol bmps directly from use with the 60csx wont work..

the bmps for the 60csx were 8bit / indexed color. Re-saving them as 24-bit RGB bitmaps fixed my problem
