Basecamp Not Communicating with NUVI

Basecamp version 3.0.5 is not communicting with my Nuvi 1490T. I get this error message dialog box.:(

There was a problem communicating with Nuvi 1490T (Unit ID 3688340755) J:

An error occured reading the following file(s):
J:/GPX/Current.gpx

The file does indeed exist on the Nuvi unit.

How do I resolve this issue so Basecamp can communicate properly with my Nuvi?:confused:

Could you please post the current.gpx file from your device? I'd be interested in seeing what the issue is from within our debugging tools. At the same time hopefully I can identify what the problem area is and fix it. Alternatively you can email the file to [email][email protected][/email]. Please put BaseCamp in the title so it gets correctly routed to me.

I, too, and getting this error when I have installed BaseCamp for the first time to use with my new 1490T. I have the same version of BaseCamp, and have checked and there are no updates for it.

Obviously there's an issue somewhere.

The same thing happened to me.

Some details that might help reproduce the problem...
- I had installed 2011.20 City Navigator North America map on the nuvi 1490T, but I had not yet installed this map on the PC.
- The 1490T had firmware 4.40 installed on it.
- Basecamp 3.0.5 was installed on the PC
- PC is running Windows XP Pro with SP3 and latest microsoft updates.

When I tried to open basecamp (with nuvi connected to PC) I got the error message

An error occured reading the following file(s):
I:/GPX/Current.gpx

The file definitely existed.

I installed 2011.20 map to the PC, Basecamp works fine with it.
