Show/Do not Show on map

When I plug in my Oregon, all the saved tracks appear on the map.

If I select one of them in the lower left pane and right click, I get a dropdown menu with options. One of them is Show on Map. Is there a way of toggling this to Do Not Show? Or toggling all off and only selecting the track I would like to look at?

The best way to accomplish what you're suggesting with BaseCamp is to create a new list with only the tracks you're interested in viewing.

Yes the name of this option is a bit misleading. What it really means is "centre this object (track, route, waypoint) on the map and zoom to an appropriate size". It tricked me too at first.

Creating lists isn't a very good answer..... while that may be useful in some cases, the ability to "hide" an item by one click would be very helpful. I use this all the time in Google Earth (check/uncheck the box), and usually I do it when trying to pick out duplicates or items that are close and similar. You can hide/unhide items one by one to help you decide which ones you might want to delete forever (i.e. isnt in a list). I only have 212 items, comingled into one or more of 10 lists, and managing them has already become troublesome.

I'm sure a lot of us agree with you. I have to spend a fair fraction of my time managing, rather than using because of the lack of more sophisticated waypoint management tools.

Workaround: To hide a route, change it's color to transparent. To do this, click the route you want to hide (left column); click Properties tab; change Color to Transparent.

To unhide a route, change it's color from transparent to magenta (or other).

I'm using Basecamp 3.0.5, nuvi 1490T with 2011.20 City Navigator North America map installed on nuvi and PC. The method above works for me for routes saved to My Collection.
