I bought a 450t with preloaded Canada Topo. Nice unit, but I cannot see the topo map in Basecamp..

It is not listed on the bottom left and not to be found in the menu.

Is there some way I can use this map for route planning on my PC?

The map reading can take quite a long time. Please stick with it and see if it finishes.

Depending on the configuration of the product it might take up to 20 min the first time through as it creates the cache (just the first time though).

Still no luck,, the memory footprint goes from 40M to 80M and then drops back down to 40 M and so on, but I cannot find a trace of the loaded map anywhere... I'm looking in Documents/Local settings/Appplication/Garmin/.. The CPU utilization while this is going on is 0%.

Should I be looking somewhere else?

BTW, is there a way to add a % complete to the progress bar? I'm sure that if I could see the number going up, I would let it run... but right now, it just looks like it is stuck.

Sorry for going so long without an update, I wish I had better news.

It looks like the errors we have reading the map require software changes and no workaround with the current 3.0.5 version is possible.

Solved

Happy to report that with GPS 3.80 and Basecamp 3.06, my Oregon 450t now reads the preloaded Canada Topo map!!
