how to change track colour on montana

In Basecamp, I have the track colour set to dark grey and on the screen they are dark grey. However, when I copy them to my montana using basecamp, they are all magenta. I'm not referring to the active track that is created while I paddle. That one, I can change in the montana. I mean the track that I am following from basecamp. If this is a montana issue, I'm sorry to post here. However, is there a way to change the track colour on the montana? If that done through basecamp? thank you

Track color set in Basecamp is not passed to the device. I don't have a Montana, but it my xumo XT the track color is controlled in the track options on the XT. I found this in the Montana 610/680 manual online:

thank you, but that only changes the colour of current/active track. I'm trying to change the colour of the track that I created in basecamp, and as you say, that is not possible.

In reading this through, are you actually asking about routes? Saved tracks are easy to switch colors and change from display to hide or back. If you select a route, no mater what color you assigned it in basecamp before importing it, the route will show as magenta, and there isn't an option for changing it on the Montana. It seems this it what your inquiry refers to. Am I reading too much into this?

I apologize for the long delay. I was at a cottage and had sporatic connections. No I am talking about tracks not routes. I tried Peabody's suggestion and it seemed to work. I will be sure soon.One thing that I did see was that I changed the colour using his instructions. However, the width of the track line was narrower than the default magenta line. I will be verifying that soon, too.

Mine is too. There are some options on my zumo XT for widening it but I don't see the need because if the track line and the route line are different colors, any deviation of the route from the track will be visible because the two lines will diverge.
