I have Basecamp 3.0.2 on Win Vista. I've created a route that works nicely until a point where there is a prob on the Garmin 24k map, a trail segment is missing. I have a Trails Illustrated map and it shows where the trail is, so I want to run the route there through a few particular points connecting the trail segments. But with auto-routing on the route jumps way over to a road. So how do I make Basecamp do a direct route only between my points for this little section? I've looked through the forums and the on-line doc and can't seem to find anything applicable. Thanks
Unfortunately we don't have a way to support mixing direct and auto routed segments in the same route.
My suggestion would be to just make a new unique direct route for this section of the trail and then continue back up with a new route after the mapping data supports it. To switch to a direct route start creating a new route using the route tool and then select the Route Options tab. Change the first option under Route Style to "Use Direct Route". This lets you create a route using just the points you specify connected by straight lines.
