Heads Up When Updating DriveSmart Maps to PC, it also updates Basecamp

I updated my DriveSmart GPS map using Garmin Express. Express gives the option to also load the map onto my PC for use by Basecamp, and I selected that as well.

It turns out that Express also updates Basecamp and as a result, Basecamp no longer contains the 100s of trail lists I have accumulated over the years. That discovery was close to a heart attack that!

I then reinstalled Basecamp 4.6.2 on the PC, and all my 100s of lists are now present, life-threatening event averted!

If this happens again you simply need to point BaseCamp at your old database, it was always there.

SUSSAMB , can you provide any more information about this? It is the first time that I have heard of a map installation to a PC affecting the Basecamp database. I thought the map installation process simply installed the map to a location where Basecamp would recognize its existence and be able to use it.

I agree, I've never heard of it either but in the OPs case reinstalling BaseCamp got it working so the data was always there. Note it was his data that was missing, not his map.
