BaseCamp won't read maps not purchased from Garmin?

I have an Etrex 30x. It has a mini SD card that is FAT 32 and has several .img maps on it that I downloaded. They work fine on the device, and I can see the files on my computer when I plug in my device. But the maps won't load in BaseCamp. How do I view them in BaseCamp?

You could try using JAVAWA imgname: https://www.javawa.nl/imgname_en.html This allows img maps on your microSD card to be reset to be visible in BaseCamp..

But where does BaseCamp store the map files on a Mac?
