    Doesn't work with Dakota 20

I get an error message that says "The Garmin Custom Maps feature is not supported on the Dakota 20...."

Yet the specifications for the Dakota 20 says that it does support custom maps. What's up?

The firmware in the Dakota will need to be updated to support this feature. It appears that the firmware has not been posted yet, but run WebUpdater to check. You could download and install the beta firmware if you don't want to wait. Follow the software link from the page you posted to find WebUpdater and the beta firmware download.

Thanks the firmware update worked for my Dakota

Very cool to have the custom map! I was surprised that the unit needed a firmware update since it was new, but I suppose it has been a while since it was actually manufactured.

The quality of the imagery does vary between areas. If you have a supported device, you can use the demo feature to preview the areas that you are most likely to use to see what you will be buying. Keep in mind that imagery is being updated constantly.

Yes, a version translated version will be available soon.

A progress indicator on the transfer of Birdseye images to the device would be useful. There does not seem to be an indicator currently showing when the transfer is happening.

When you click on the BirdsEye being downloaded there is a progress indicator at the bottom of the panel as well as real time updates on the total number of images in your selection as well the number of successful, failed and pending images.

The progress indicator seems to only show the progress of downloading of images to the computer. I'm talking about progress of transferring the files to the GPS. I could not see anything. With the older low speed USB devices (Colorado and Oregon x00), the transfer can take quite a long time and there is no indication of when it is complete unless I'm missing something.

There is a very thin green indicator below the device (oregon) folder (in the left hand pane) that shows a transfer is in progress. It doesn't really have an accurate progress bar but it does disappear once the transfer is complete. Took me a while to notice it.
